People are living longer. For healthy aging, it is important to understand both the biological changes and the significance of faith life on longevity and mental health. This intersection presents a wonderful opportunity for parishes, schools, and organizations to embrace the wisdom, experience, and talents of older adults in the delivery of their ministries.

Gain a better understanding of:

•The biology of the aging process
•Common mental health changes and challenges
•The impact of faith on mental health & living longer
•Valuing the wisdom, experience, & vitality of older adults

Dr. Cervantes is a psychiatrist for CHI Health and a contributing author of The Wiley Handbook on the Aging Mind and Brain. After graduating from Arizona State University with a B.S.in Electrical Engineering, he worked for 13 years as a Director of Internet Product Development. Dr. Cervantes was drawn by faith to change careers and graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine, completing his residency at the Creighton University Psychiatry program in his new hometown of Omaha.
