Christ Child Summer Camp gives children a chance to continue learning during the summer.  The summer camp originally began in 1954 in Blair, Nebraska. More than 65 children attended each week and participated in crafts, games, religious activities, outdoor sports, cooking, swimming and songfests.

Our Summer Camp program offers a safe environment filled with fun and learning experiences: field trips, arts & crafts, physical activities (in our gym and pool), learning, healthy food, and friends.

It’s a great opportunity for youth to “Dream it...Explore it...Do it!”

Title XX accepted, financial assistance available (we strive not to turn anyone away because of financial hardship).

This year’s summer camp will run daily from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. from June 7 to August 13 with 88 children participating. There are many fun activities planned for the summer including swimming, arts and crafts, and numerous field trips.

Christ Child received funding this year through the Peter Kiewit Summer Fun Grant which supports additional field trips, including Nebraska City, Mahoney State Park, Rosenblatt Stadium, Henry Doorly Zoo and the Durham Western Heritage Museum.

“We are looking forward to making this summer a great experience for kids and for their families,” said Gregg Hendricks, youth director at Christ Child Center.

"Every time I see or hear Christ Child, it brings back memories of field trips sponsored by the center. We'd hop on the bus with our lunch and go!  And can't forget going to summer camp in Blair. Nothing like giggly, scared girls going down the dark path at night to the 'moon'." - Judy, former camper
