Catholic Charities of Omaha’s Family Strengthening programs seek to enrich and sustain families in Omaha’s most economically challenged and ethnically diverse areas. The programs are offered at Juan Diego Center in south Omaha, which serves mostly immigrant and Spanish-speaking families, and Christ Child North Center in north Omaha, which serves mostly African-Americans. Both areas are challenged by poverty, high unemployment, and crime. We currently have 104 families enrolled. We can handle 125 families in the program. The Family Enrichment Program focuses on five areas:
Through case management, education, community forums, community services/involvement, and strategies for healthy development, families are afforded the tools necessary to live independent and sustainable lives. Through services at Christ Child North Center and Juan Diego Center, we offer family activities to strengthen our communities. Community Forums
