Director of Behavioral Health Services - Omaha Campus for Hope: Michael Phillips MS, LMHP, PLDAC
Mike Phillips is a Director of Behavioral Health Services at Catholic Charities’ Omaha Campus for Hope. Mike has a Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Mike is a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner and a Provisionally Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor in the State of Nebraska. Mike has extensive experience in the behavioral health field, including work with a local psychiatric hospital, group homes, public and Catholic schools, chemical dependency treatment centers, intensive home-based family therapy services, and homeless veterans.


Director of Domestic Violence Services: Frances Holeton, MSW LCSW LMHP
Frances Holeton has worked in the field of Domestic Violence for nearly 13 years. Her work experience includes working with children in a crisis setting. In that role she worked with children to assist them in an academic setting and also worked with the children and their mothers to clarify what their needs were in the family setting. She has also worked with mothers in a group setting and in an individual setting as they struggled to meet the task of parenting having left homes that were in crisis. Her experience also includes the role of therapist in a crisis setting to help victims of domestic violence that were in immediate need. She acquired her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and holds a license as a Mental Health Practitioner. She is also licensed as a Clinical Social Worker by the State of Nebraska.


Director of Christ Child North Center: Marilyn Sims, BS
Marilyn Sims works as program director of St. Martin de Porres, coordinating the services and programs we offer, including the food pantry. She also works with organizations and neighborhood groups to identify and address community needs. Her background includes an Organizational Communication Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science Organizational Performance degree (in process) from Bellevue University. Prior to her work at St. Martin, Marilyn was the training and education coordinator for Catholic Charities. Her many activities and community work include Diversity Council President - Catholic Charities, Leadership Team – Catholic Charities, North Omaha Development Communications subcommittee member, Citizens’ Patrol Academy - Omaha Police Department - October 2007, Mentor/Facilitator - Good News Jail & Prison Ministry - Douglas County Correctional Center, and the 2009 African American Leadership Awards Nomination committee.


Director of Juan Diego Center: Ana Barrios, BSW
Ana Barrios is the Program Director of the Juan Diego Center of Catholic Charities, a Community Services program located in South Omaha. Ana graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor degree in Arts and Sciences majoring in Social Work. Ana has worked with Catholic Charities community services programs for nine years and has extensive experience working with local and new immigrant communities in our area.


Director of Microbusiness: Adriana Zambrano, BS, MBA
Originally from Colombia, Adriana graduated with a degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Marketing from EAFIT University in Medellin.  After working in the areas of marketing and general management, she moved to Omaha to attend the University of Nebraska and completed her Masters Degree in Business Administration. Besides her knowledge and experience in the area of marketing and business, Adriana has been an active member of nonprofit organizations such as AIESEC and Jaycees, in which she developed leadership and project management abilities. Before becoming the program director of the Microbusiness Training and Development program at Catholic Charities Adriana worked with several companies and provided training and support to entrepreneurs, offering guidance on myriad topics, such as management and daily operations, market development, HR, and strategic planning, in addition to helping them develop business plans to secure loans and licenses. 


Director of Resource Development and Government Relations: John Synowiecki, BS
John Synowiecki is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha with majors in Criminal Justice and Philosophy. He has served the state of Nebraska as a Probation Officer and a Probation Supervisor. His community involvements are extensive: Deer Park Neighborhood Association, Vice President; South Omaha Business Association, Member Board of Directors; South Omaha Optimist Club, Member; Chicano Awareness Center, Substance Abuse Advisory Council, Former Member; Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Parish Council, Former Council President; Nebraska-Iowa Referee Association, Member; and Midwest Officials Association, Member. Serving Catholic Charities as Program Director for Government Relations, John brings expertise to our organization. His professional and political leadership includes Learning Community Coordinating Council, Elected - District 5; Nebraska State Senator, Legislative District 7; Nebraska Retirement Systems Committee, Chair; Appropriations Committee, Member; National Council of State Legislators; Law & Criminal Justice, Health, Human Services & Welfare, Labor & Workforce Committees; Council of State Governments; Workforce Development, Labor, Health & Human Services, Midwestern Economic Development Committees; American Legislative Exchange Council; Tax and Fiscal Policy Committee and the State of Nebraska, Community Corrections Council, Legislative Appointee.


Children’s Services Supervisor: Sue Malloy, BA
Sue Malloy has worked in the field of Pregnancy, Parenting, and Adoption Services for nearly 29 years. She has a BA in Psychology from Creighton University. Her professional experience includes working with children and families in the foster care system and special needs adoption. She has been with Catholic Charities Adoption and Pregnancy Counseling for 10 years, providing pregnancy counseling and support services, adoption planning and preparation, and post-adoption services. She has extensive experience serving individuals and families dealing with unplanned pregnancy. She is also a certified provider of “Project Rachel” counseling, the Catholic Church’s healing ministry to those who have experienced an abortion. Sue has been the supervisor of Adoption and Pregnancy Counseling for the past 4 years.


Director of Immigration Legal Assistance Services: Elisha Novak, BA
Elisha Novak graduated from University of NE-Omaha with a BA in Spanish and minors in Latino Latin American Studies. In her undergraduate career, she studied in both Mexico and Costa Rica. She is currently obtaining a Master's in Sociology with an emphasis in Latin America. She is a Board of Immigration Appeals Accredited Representative and has four years of experience representing clients at the local District office. Elisha brings her expertise to Catholic Charities where we specialize in Family Based Immigration Law and represent clients applying for naturalization, adjustment of status, and assist victims of felonious crimes in applying for immigration relief.
