Catholic Charities in Columbus serves about 900 people every year, providing chemical dependency assessments and outpatient substance abuse counseling for adults and youth, pregnancy counseling and adoption services, individual and family therapy services, psychiatric or mental health evaluations, medication evaluations and residential treatment for adults diagnosed with mental illness and chemical addictions.

In addition to mental health services, Catholic Charities provides high quality senior services in the Columbus community. In October 2013, Catholic Charities took over operations of the Senior Center in Columbus, Nebraska. The Catholic Charities Columbus Senior Center strives to be a focal point in the community for seniors, creating a fun, safe and engaging atmosphere through programs and services such as widow/widower support group, quilting club, movie day, nutrition classes, exercise classes and more. The center also provides a low cost meal every weekday, providing over 2,525 meals during the month of May alone.

Addiction assessments average 3 hours in length and are conducted on Wednesdays starting at 7:30 am on walk-in first come first served basis at our Omaha site.
